Event Planning Tips: 5 Things Every Rustic Wedding Should Have

February 18, 2019 by Events & Logistics

There are lots of wedding themes but one of the most popular and in-demand theme is a rustic-themed wedding. It is quite understandable why it is so popular among soon-to-be-wed couples and event planners – it is simple, uncomplicated, easy to achieve and suitable for all seasons and almost every culture. If you are planning to familiarize or become a pro in organizing rustic-themed weddings, below are 5 things that every rustic wedding should have.

A Rustic Venue

This is perhaps the most obvious of all the things needed to have a rustic wedding. To give the event a total rustic experience, it would be best to choose a venue that would complement the theme like a barn or a country house. Well-kept barns or vintage country houses are perfect venues for an effortless, rustic feel.

Go Rustic Down To The Small Details

Once you’ve already secured the venue, it’s time to prepare for the smaller details — decor, tabletops, candles, flowers, props, etc. To get a deeper rustic feel, you might want to use props that scream rustic, such as twigs, tree logs, hay bales, mason jars, crates and barrels. Try to work around earth-toned palettes so as not to veer away from the rustic theme.

Tone Down Formalities

Yes, weddings are considered to be a formal occasion but when a couple decides to go for a rustic-themed wedding, it’s a green light to ditch the stiff and formal program and switch to a fun and laid back party. In terms of food that’s going to be served, you can actually ditch the three-course meal and be more fun and creative with the dishes that are going to be served – with permission and suggestions from the couple, of course.

Rustic Lights

When organizing a rustic wedding, you can ditch the heavy LED lights and opt for a more subtle and romantic lighting game. You can use a lot of fairy lights to spaz up the venue and bring the romantic theme a notch higher.

Au Naturel

Again, you have to keep in mind to keep everything look natural to stick to the rustic theme. Make sure that everything is natural and the color scheme revolves on greens, brown, wood and nude.
