Let the Good Times Roll – Mardi-Gras Themed Party!
While I love throwing events in Florida, I also enjoy the chance to experience different cities and cultures. Events & Logistics will go anywhere our clients request our services, and recently, that meant heading to the party city of New Orleans. When hosting a “destination” event, I like to immerse myself in the city’s past and present, and for this event, we embraced everything that the Big Easy has to offer. http://neworleanscvb.com
Since New Orleans is best known for its rowdy costumed parades and street parties, our corporate client chose a Mardi Gras-theme for their recent event at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, which is considered one of the top aquariums in the country. You may have heard the French/Creole expression “Laissez les bons temps rouler,” which means “Let the good times roll,” and this phrase aptly describes how our event kicked off. Guests joined a parade that included a marching band, stilt walkers and the King and Queen of Mardi Gras, that began at the front steps of the Waldorf Astoria Revelers entertained the guests as they draped them with customary Mardi Gras beads
and rolled down famous Canal Street to the famous Audubon Nature Institute Aquarium. http://audubonnatureinstitute.org/aquarium.
Once they entered the Aquarium, guests enjoyed more live music, a full open bar and Creole specialties such as gumbo and jambalaya. The space was decked out in traditional Mardi Gras colors of purple, green and gold, but there’s not much décor that can outshine the main attraction of the sea life at the Aquarium. The Aquarium is home to more than 15,000 sea life creatures, and many of the amazing animals like penguins and otters were on full display for guests. With this Mardi Gras-themed event, the client and their guests got the chance to experience much of the revelry that personifies this great city, while enjoying the peacefulness of life under the sea.
Since the party never stops in New Orleans, I suggest heading over to Harrah’s Casino for after-dinner drinks … and simply enjoy where the night takes you.
