I admit it … I love a good theme party and Great Gatsby Affairs Themed Event is one of them! It’s the chance to dress up, pretend your someone else for the night, or even live in a glamorous past era for a few hours. One of the most popular theme parties today is a glitzy Great Gatsby-themed party. Since the over-the-top adaptation of the classic movie by Baz Luhrmann hit theaters in 2013, Events & Logistics has created numerous Gatsby affairs at venues like the Boca Raton Resort & Club, Eden Roc Miami Beach, and most recently at an exclusive resort in Austin, Texas designed by Kenny Sharples.
To recreate the Gatsby-style of the Roaring 20s, when girls dressed as flappers and Big Bands dominated the stage, you’ll want to create a labyrinth of enchanting settings throughout your event. I suggest starting with a grand entrance — iron gates accented with topiary trees and ferns — and a three-tiered fountain as the focal point, with a variety of white flowers floating in the water in the lower tiers, while the upper tier is accented with faux pearls. Dot the surrounding areas with tufted leather, diamond-studded bars and ornate, towering silver mirrors swathed in strands of pearls and crystals. The tables can be dressed in alternating floor-length silver and black satin linens, topped with tall centerpieces made of hydrangeas or dressed in jewels or pearls.
Encourage your guests to dress in tuxes and glittering gowns that match the period of the 1920s. As your guests flow into the party, drape them with long white beads or adorn their heads with fedora hats or feather jeweled head bands. And don’t forget to keep the Champagne flowing!
