Explore Florida’s Sea Turtles. We have read about them and heard about them, but how many people have actually been able to to learn and export the history of these endangered and awe-inspiring creators?
One of the places your guests will visit the Nature Conservancy’s Blowing Rocks Preserve. Some of the experience here is beach dune, coastal strand, mangrove swamp and tropical hardwood hammock that feature gumbo limbo trees, sea grab, sea oats,Jamaica caper and so much more. This barrier island preserve offers a wonderful idea of native plant restoration and sea turtle preservation.
Another great stop is Loggerhead Marine life Center where they will witness a sea turtle hospital. They take in about 40 to 50 injured or sick turtles are healed and then released back into the ocean.
This is a great private behind-the scenes turtle biology and sea turtle rehabilitation and release.
Discover the “Turtle Yard” where marine biologists and doctors have performed procedures to save all kinds of marine animals. Then, participate in a special presentation on sea turtle rescue, rehabilitation, and release. Find out how the Loggerhead Marine Center has rescued and saved the lives of hundreds of sea turtles. Accompanied by a marine biologist, we will walk over to the adjacent beach to learn about beach ecology, pollution, sea turtle nesting and ocean ecology.
To round out the experience, we will end our tour with an enjoyable visit to our favorite watering hole. While having a drink, you can discuss what you’ve learned today about the importance and irreplaceable nature of Florida’s Sea Turtles.
